TRAVERSE CITY -- It's an annual event that is so important to the Grand Traverse County community, because the money raised will help keep those in need warm this winter.
The "Gift of Warmth Gala" will take place Saturday.
It's held by the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency, which helps low-income residents pay heating bills. While the economic times in the area are tough ... those who run the event say the hearts are big around Northern Michigan.
"It's kind of difficult to raise money but the people in the Grand Traverse County area have been very generous and we're hoping that this gala will raise a lot of money so that we can help people in the remaining cold months of this year," Explained Val Stone, Community Service Coordinator.
The Gift of Warmth Gala will take place Saturday at the Park Place Hotel from 6:30 - 11:00 PM.
Pre sale tickets $30/per person or $50/2. Tickets are available at the Northwest Community Action Agency, Northwestern Bank, Raven's Child, Roy's General Store, or by clicking on THIS LINK.
