The 2010 North American VASA Cross-Country Ski Race will take place next month but before that happens, a call for volunteers needs to be answered from the community
GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- You can get in on the action of the 34th annual VASA Cross-Country Ski Race, without putting on skis.
The VASA will take place next month in Grand Traverse County but before that happens, a call for volunteers needs to be answered from the community.
The cross-country ski race brings thousands of people to the area with the volunteers helping to make it a success. There are dozens of jobs that need to be filled, and they don't all require being out in the cold.
"A lot of people assume that we just have outside jobs, but we have a lot of behind the scene jobs and indoor jobs that we need extra people to help us fill up those spots and make the race as good as it can be," explains VASA Race Director, Lisa Taylor.
The VASA will take place February 12-14. Most activities will take place at Timber Ridge RV & Recreation Resort at 4050 E. Hammond Road near Traverse City.
