Michigan's AG not sure if provision is legal
(AP) -- (AP)
Michigan's Attorney General is among a group of attorneys general across the country who say they're opposed to the health care bill - because of a provision that benefits just one state.
Attorney General Mike Cox says he objects to what's called the "Cornhusker kick-back." It's a provision that allows the state of Nebraska to avoid paying its share of an expansion of Medicaid. Cox says taxpayers in Michigan and other states will be left to pick up the tab.
The provision was added to get the support of democratic senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska. Michigan's Attorney General says he is investigating to see if the provision is even legal.
