Traverse Heights Elementary is awarded a grant that will supply a healthy snack to students each day
TRAVERSE CITY -- Students in at a Traverse City elementary school are getting some healthy snacks free of charge.
Traverse Heights Elementary School has been awarded a federally funded fresh fruit and vegetable grant through the Michigan Department of Education.
The grant will give the students a snack during each school day for the rest of the school year.
School leaders are excited to teach students about healthy eating with the grant.
