The public will have a chance to weigh in on the future of the Grand Traverse Commons at a hearing Wednesday
TRAVERSE CITY -- The public will have a chance to weigh in on the future of the Grand Traverse Commons at a hearing Wednesday.
The Grand Traverse Commons Joint Planning Commission will unveil a proposed Master Plan.
The original plan was developed in 1994. Officials say the 'guiding principal' from the original plan is still in place, including keeping 80 percent of the commons area 'green'. But in the new version areas that do have buildings already in place are being encouraged to be renovated and restored for new uses.
The public hearing will take place at the Committee Room at the Governmental Center starting at 7:00 PM.
The Joint Planning Commission will possibly recommend approval of the proposed Master Plan at the hearing.
It will then head to the Garfield Township Board and the Traverse City Commission.
