Officials hope people give the 'gift of life' during the season of giving
TRAVERSE CITY -- You can give the gift of life during this season of giving by taking part in the Father Fred Foundation Blood Drive.
The foundation is teaming up with Michigan Blood (formerly Michigan Community Blood Centers) to host a blood drive on December 30. Officials say this date was chosen because it is between Christmas and New Years. They are hoping young adults home from college may be looking for new ways to give back to the community.
The blood drive will be held at the Father Fred Foundation at 826 Hastings Street in Traverse City from 3:00-6:00 pm. Walk ins are welcome but appointments can be made by calling David Abeel at 231-947-2055 ext. 18.
