Public Safety Director of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians is named to serve as the first tribal representative on the federally managed Interagency Threat Assessment Coordination Group (ITACG)

MANISTEE -- Joseph LaPorte, Public Safety Director of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, will serve as the first tribal representative on the federally managed Interagency Threat Assessment Coordination Group (ITACG).

The ITACG assists with counterterrorism along with the national intelligence community. 

The ITACG consists of federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement officers, first responders and intelligence analysts.  The group helps by sharing terrorism, homeland security and weapons of mass destruction information between the United States Intelligence Community and its state, local, tribal and private sector partners.

After a one-year assignment to the ITACG, LaPorte will return to the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians.
