Man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl seven years ago turns himself in to authorities
CHEBOYGAN -- A Wyoming man is behind bars in Cheboygan County, accused of sexually assaulting a young girl seven years ago.
Troopers from two State Police posts were involved in the investigation involving a sexual assault on a girl who was 11-years-old at the time.
The victim who is now 18-years-old told Troopers she was assaulted at a home in Cheboygan County in 2002.
The suspect, 35-year-old Joel Nielsen was found in Cheyenne Wyoming. Nielsen turned himself in to the Cheboygan County Sheriff's Office Wednesday. He was charged with two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Bond was set at $25,000.
