Acme Township will receive a grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Fund to move ahead on a mile long public park

ACME TOWNSHIP -- Acme Township officials are moving forward on a plan to develop a mile long public park along the shores of East Bay.

Wednesday morning, officials learned a $2.6 million dollar grant was approved from a state natural resources fund. The grant will help complete phase two of the project.

A more than $3 million dollar grant earlier this year helped complete phase one of the park plan. Phase one included purchasing eleven and a half acres, including 2,000 feet of East Bay frontage.
