Groups spend an afternoon learning the ropes
Some volunteers have an unusual strategy to help another group in need.
It's a special event is sponsored by Third Level Crisis Center, and it is hosted by Studio 7 Arts Center in Traverse City. On Saturday, seven groups of people brought donations for several homeless youth programs in the area. They also fanned out into the community to stop at different businesses and service agencies - all to experience what it's like to be homeless.
All donations and cash proceeds support the Homeless Youth Initiative, and will be shared between several social service agencies involved with helping those in need.
