Northern Michigan Regional Hospital lifts its ban on young visitors

PETOSKEY -- An Emmet County hospital is allowing young visitors to see patients once again.

Northern Michigan Regional Hospital banned visitors 18 and younger when flu cases spiked last month, closing dozens of schools in the area.  Many other hospitals across Northern Michigan also put a ban into place.

Monday, officials with Northern Michigan Regional Hospital lifted the ban stating that the prevalence of influenza cases in the county are down.  Officials are asking visitors of all ages to still consider their own personal health situations to determine if it is necessary for them to visit a patient.
