Budget Task Force wants your input
The area's largest school district is inviting community members to a forum to discuss the district's budget.
The Traverse city Area Public School Board and the members of the Budget Advisory Task Force are holding a public forum on Monday night. The goal is to take input and suggestions on ways to trim the TCAPS budget.
Current suggestions are already on the TCAPS website, and include things like increasing class size, across the board employee pay cuts, unpaid snow days, and eliminating bussing for high school students. You can see the full list of ideas by going to:

If you'd like to share your comments with the task force, you can attend Monday's meeting. It will be held at 6 pm at the Tompkins-Boardman Administration building, just off of 8th Street in Traverse City.
