TRAVERSE CITY, GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- A 20-year-old Chesterfield Township man and a 17-year-old Traverse City man are facing charges for multiple car larcenies and breaking into the Ben Franklin store on East Eighth Street in Traverse City.  The business break-in took place on August 17th.

Traverse City Police say five people are responsible for the crime spree, including the two recent arrests.  The two men are behind bars awaiting arraignment, while investigators serve arrest warrants for two 17-year-ld Traverse City women and one 20-year-old Chesterfield Township man.

Police say about $5,000 in property has been recovered as a result of the investigation and detectives are in the process of recovering more property that has been sold by the suspects after it was stolen.  A tip phoned in helped with the arrests and subsequent surveillance allowed police to recover most of the property.

The investigation continues and police are asking for victims of car larcenies to call the Detective Bureau to claim the recovered items. The phone number to call is 231-995-5152.
