Free Meals and Conversation Strengthen Bonds

Every Thursday morning, VFW Post 2780 in Traverse City is filled with the sounds of conversation and the smells of a home-cooked breakfast.  It's here that veterans from different generations, who have fought in different conflicts and wars, come together to share a common bond.

The purpose of the breakfasts is twofold.  It's an opportunity for vets to connect with others and make friends, but it's also a safe, supportive environment for those living with post-traumatic stress disorder.  Veterans and their families can use these gatherings to tell their stories, share a laugh, or simply listen and spend time with others who have shared similar experiences.

Veterans and their families are welcome to the breakfasts, which take place every Thursday morning from 7 to 9:30 a.m.  at VFW Post 2780 on Veterans Drive in Traverse City.  A VFW membership is not required.
