Missing woman found in wooded area
The body of a missing downstate woman has been found in northern Michigan.
State Police say they received a call back on May 27th about a missing 50 year old woman from Wixom. The investigation led troopers to a wooded area in Crawford County, where state police say they found the woman's body in a shallow grave. Since then they've declared the area a crime scene and arrested a 49 year old man in Detroit.
They say the suspect was the woman's alleged boyfriend. Investigators say the crime lab and a state police narcotics team were also involved in the investigation.
It's not confirmed when the body was found. No other information has been released.
