High speed chase in Wexford County

One man is hurt after leading deputies on a high speed chase in Wexford County, that ended when he hit a tree and his car burst into flames.

It happened around 3:30 Saturday morning on East 22 Road near Old US 131 in Cedar Creek Township. Investigators say deputies were trying to stop the driver for an improper license plate when he sped off.

That high speed chase lasted less than a mile when the driver lost control on a gravel road, hit several trees.... the car then caught on fire. The sheriff's office says 21 year old Patrick Lee Harrison of Manton had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

He's in the Wexford County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, operating while intoxicated, and driving with a suspended license. Investigators say Harrison was also wanted on several outstanding warrants.
