Jail inmate walks off the job Saturday morning

A jail inmate walked away from his post in the inmate worker program. It happened about 11:30 Saturday morning.

The Grand Traverse County Undersheriff says 23 year old Dustin Laver Miller was assigned to the Goodwill store on South Airport Road when he walked off the job and was seen walking towards the Logan's Landing area nearby.  A K-9 tracked Miller that far but investigators believe he got into a blue sedan which then left the area.

The sheriff's office says an officer in plain clothes spotted Miller in Kingsley, and he was taken into custody without incident. He's back in the Grand Traverse County Jail and the Undersheriff says Miller is no longer is part of the worker program.

Miller was sentenced in March on charges of resisting and obstructing, and was a minimum security inmate.
