Event includes annual Blessing of the Blossoms

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- The Wineries of the Old Mission Peninsula are celebrating the new wine season with their annual "Blossom Days."

The 16th annual event is going on this weekend at each of the wineries on Grand Traverse County's Old Mission Peninsula. The tasting rooms are open to the public on Sunday from noon until 5 pm.  Organizers say it's the only time of the year to preview the season's new wines, sample reserve wine directly from the barrel, and take an exclusive winery tour and talk one on one with winemakers.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the any of the seven participating wineries. The event coincides with the annual Blessing of the Blossoms - that's scheduled for 12:30 Sunday at Chateau Chantal.
