Mecosta County child steps into roadway

Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene after a Mecosta county girl is hit by a car.

It happened Saturday night at about 9:30 At the intersection of 9 Mile and 30th Avenue in Wheatland Township. Deputies say a 17 year old was southbound on 30th Avenue when a 12 year old girl from Remus walked on to the roadway right in front of the vehicle.

She was taken to the hospital - where deputies say she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
