CHARLEVOIX COUNTY -- A Charlevoix County man will spend time behind bars for being drunk behind the wheel and causing an accident that killed two kids.

Earlier today 33-year-old Jeremy Berg of East Jordan pled guilty to two counts of driving while intoxicated causing death and one count of child endangerment. The charges stem from an accident last November.

Berg was driving down Deer Lake Road in Boyne Valley Township when he lost control of his SUV causing it to flip on its side and hit a tree. Twelve-year-old Skyler Moore, and his 11-year-old sister Tasha, both students at Central Lake Middle School, were passengers in the truck and were both killed.

Five other people were also in the vehicle including a 22-month-old girl. Berg could spend 15 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for May 8.
