Annual event draws hundreds of racers and even bigger crowds
It's one of the biggest snowmobile racing events in northern Michigan - and it's back in Gaylord for another year.
The Snocross races are a big boost to the Gaylord economy, and this winter's snow means it's great for racing and great for business.
The big event started back in 1995. In past years they've had more than 400 snowmobilers take to the trails. Visitors also pay $10 dollars each to watch the races. With all the snowmobilers and the fans it's good business for Gaylord area merchants.
There are several different divisions for snow cross racing... With racers starting at eight years old. This is the first of several snocross events coming to Gaylord. The next is January 31st at the Otsego County Fairgrounds.
