Downstate man killed in Kalkaska County
KALKASKA COUNTY -- Deputies from the Kalkaska County Sheriff's office are investigating a deadly accident that claimed the life of a downstate man.
It happened early Sunday morning in Blue Lake Township, on the Blue Bear Trail.
The sheriff says the victim, 36 year old Brian Dewhirst from Warren, Michigan, was riding alone on his snowmobile when he hit a tree.
Dewhirst was riding with a group when the accident happened, but it's not clear how it happened.
The crash is still under investigation.
