The owner of the car was giving the suspect a ride home.
TRAVERSE CITY -- A Traverse City man has been arrested on drunk driving charges after crashing a car into a convenience store.
It happened late Monday night at the 7-11 store on 14th Street in Traverse City.
When police got there, they say they found a car had hit the building.
The owner of the car says he was giving the suspect a ride home after being at a downtown bar.
They say they stopped to buy cigarettes when the suspect decided to play a prank on the owner of the car by driving around back, that's when the car hit the building.
The 21-year-old suspect fled, but was later arrested for drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
