The Mackinac Bridge Authority has filled a million dollar lawsuit against Allstate Painting in the Grand Rapids federal court. In 2002, Allstate Painting was awarded a contract to sandblast and paint posts and beams below the bridge deck. The Mackinac Bridge Authority says Allstate Painting left a project in 2006 without fixing the flaws. The Bridge Authority says it will have to do the work itself or hire another contractor. The lawsuit also names an insurance company called American Motorists.
