The Cheboygan County Sheriff is trading in his military uniform for a badge once again. Sheriff Dale Clarmont was deployed to Iraq last March, leaving Undersheriff Michael Newman overseeing day to day operations in Cheboygan. Sheriff Clarmont serves with the 37th Brigade Combat Team headquartered in Ohio. After commanding soldiers for the past nine months in Iraq he is now getting ready to head back to to office. Clarmont stopped into the sheriff's office briefly Monday but is now enjoying some vacation time with his family. He will be back to his regular hours starting next Monday.
