The holiday season is joyful for many but new research shows it's also a time when drug and alcohol rehab centers see an influx of new patients. Experts say the holidays cause emotions to run high, and so people with addiction problems tend to turn to drugs and alcohol to cope. Another reason for the increase in patients? Families often see their loved one's erratic behavior, prompting them to intervene and talk them into seeking treatment.
