MANISTEE -- According to the branch's corps officer, the rise in temperature on Sunday caused water from melting snow to flood the basement of their building. That destroyed about $800 worth of food. The cost of the food will be covered by insurance, but they won't get the money in time to fill the last 600 holiday food baskets. So far they've replaced food for only 200. To make a donation you can direct it to the 415 River Street location, where there hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by contacting Major Jo Langham at 231-723-6243.
