The number of people dying from heart disease or stroke has gone down nearly 30 percent since 1999, according to a new report from the American Heart Association. While this is excellent progress, experts say the major risk factors for heart disease have not gone down; like high blood pressure and cholesterol. The study also found over 60 percent of adults do not get the recommended amount of exercise, and obesity rates have skyrocketed over the past 30 years. Experts say a collaborative effort from researchers, government officials, and business and community leaders have contributed to the lower risk of death.
