A program set up by a major communications company is helping fight domestic violence in Northern Michigan. The HopeLine program set up by Verizon Wireless has given a $4,000 grant to Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan. The money will help fund educational programs for domestic violence survivors and helps victims regain control in their lives. Customers can donate old used phones to the program to be rebuilt. The HopeLine also wants to remind people before donating phones to make sure their service has been shut off and any personal data has been erased from the phone. To learn more log on to verizonwireless.com.
