TRAVERSE CITY -- Authorities say slippery roads contributed to a multiple vehicle crash that injured three people Wednesday morning in Grand Traverse County. The incident happened around 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of M-37 and US-31, south of Traverse City. The Blair Township Fire Chief says an emergency fire response truck that was helping at the scene was struck by another vehicle. In all four cars were involved and no one was seriously hurt. Investigators say a build-up of wet slush on the road was a major factor in the crash. Jim Carroll with the Blair Township Fire Depatment says, "just slow down and allow a lot of extra time to get where you have to go. And always drive paying attention to the road, no distractions, no cell phones, no food and take your time drive defensively, leave plenty of room for the car in front of you." All three of the injured were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Traffic was at a stand still for 45 minutes.
