Rotary Charities grants announced

Rotary Charities of Traverse City is giving out more than $450,000 in grants to help several community organizations. $325,000 will help support the construction of the new YMCA in Grand Traverse County. Another $75,000 is being given to help turn the former US Coast Guard Station in Frankfort into the Crystal Lake Art Center. The rest of the grants will help the Boys and Girls Club of Traverse City, Conflict Resolution Services, Grass River Natural Area, and HomeStretch. To apply for a grant through Rotary Charities head to www.rotarycharities.org, the deadline to apply is March 1, 2009.
