TRAVERSE CITY -- What better way for your four legged friends to celebrate the season than with a visit from Santa Paws? This weekend the Cherryland Humane Society held it's annual open house and dog and cat owners are invited to have their pet's picture taken with Santa for a $10 donation. Of course the proceeds go to support the Cherryland Humane Society. Mike Cherry from the Humane Society says, "well you know it's a time that we just open our hearts and our facility and just have people have an opportunity to interact with their pets, you know, during the holiday season. It kind of captures for us the essence of Christmas." Even some of the most recent adopt-a-pets stopped by for a visit. Some of the most perfect pooches and fantastic felines also took home awards for the cutest, most unusual, and best costumed pets.

Check out the Your Pets section of UpNorthLive.com for more from the Humane Society as well as Lost and Found Pets.
