State officials say tax revenues will be $540 million less than earlier projections. Money left over from the last budget year will lessen the problem, but the state's general fund still will be short an estimated $240 million this fiscal year. We talked with State Senator Jason Allen from Traverse City. Senator Allen says legislators are awaiting word on what the Governor wants to cut. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees must approve the executive order for it to take effect.
