Around 6 a.m. Friday morning 19-year-old Jeffrey Sena and 25-year-old Austin Merrill both of Benzonia, broke into a home on Brook Street in Homestead Township. When they took off, a resident of the home called 911 and then got in their vehicle and followed them. Reports say when the resident caught up, Sena and Austin started shooting at the person with handguns. Deputies caught up with them in Joyfield Township shortly after the shooting. They were charged Friday with 6 felonies, including assault with intent to do great bodily harm, felonious assault and home invasion. The resident was not injured.
