According to the State Police sexual acts took place between a male Forest Area Schools teacher and a 17-year-old female student. New state law - which went into affect this July - prohibits a teacher from engaging in sex acts with a student at the same school. According to investigators the acts took place at the teachers home in Mancelona, which is in Antrim County. The teacher has yet to be arraigned, but is being held. School officials say they are cooperating fully with the police. The teacher has been placed on indefinite paid administrative leave until the situation is resolved in court.
