TRAVERSE CITY -- Lights, camera, action ...
The St. Francis High School senior theology class has been studying major world religions. Friday they took what they've learned about Islam, and turned it into a news broadcast in front of cameras and an audience of parents and peers. One of the students, Julie Dohery says, "people really don't know much about it. I knew nothing about it and coming in here, it just gives you a different perspective of what's going on with everything in the news." The classes spent several hours Friday working on the newscasts, switching anchors so everyone could get a chance in front of the cameras. This is considered the final project for the Islam section in the theology class, which has studied five major religions all semester.
