Experts at Harvard Medical School looked at data from a study of over 1,000 children in New Zealand. All had their I.Q. tests as children, and were later evaluated for mental disorders. Researchers found children with a low I.Q. had an increased risk for schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety disorders. Experts say this information can be used by educators and pediatricians to screen for future mental disorders.
