Traffic stop leads to a pot bust

TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City Police stopped a car early Saturday morning for a traffic violation. The driver, a 25-year-old female from Traverse City, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. A male passenger was identified as a 26-year-old from Traverse City on parole out of Kent County on a drug charge, and was arrested for violating a condition of his parole. Inside the vehicle officers located a large quantity of marijuana and $800 in cash. The 26-year-old male is being lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail on a parole violation. He is most likely facing charges for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
