Layoff rumors are true at the Little River Casino Resort
MANISTEE -- Friday, a spokesperson for the Little River Casino Resort in Manistee said layoff rumors were "overstated". This evening the casino announced they are laying off 100 employees. Officials at the casino say they explored all the other options in an attempt to avoid layoffs and say they regret that these layoffs are necessary to keep the casino viable. They blame the downturn in the economy and say the casino layoffs are across the board. The casino employees some 950 people in the Manistee area.
