SOUTH HAVEN TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Firefighters responding to a fire in a mobile home found the body of a 19-year-old woman inside. State police identify the victim of Saturday's fire in Van Buren County's South Haven Township as Geanette Madsen. Crews responded within minutes to the fire. But Ronald Wise, head of South Haven Area Emergency Services, says they were hindered by extensive flames coming from the back of the trailer and live power lines. Wise says investigators determined the fire began after a portable heating device was placed too close to combustible materials. He also says there apparently weren't any working smoke detectors. An autopsy on Madsen, who lived in the mobile home, was scheduled for Monday.
