GLEN ARBOR -- Starting in December, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be replacing the bridge on M-22 at the Glen Lake Narrows, which is just south of Glen Arbor. The project will force the road to close and cause traffic to be re-routed onto M-109. Two meetings were held Wednesday to give residents and business owners an opportunity to talk one on one with MDOT officials about the project and the impact it could have. Gary Niemi with MDOT says, "the overall response so far and even working with the township so their happiness with us to consider some of their requests with the aesthetics and with the fishing heritage with the Carl Olsen dedication to the bridge. They've been very appreciative of us working with them to solicit input." The existing bridge has been in place since 1928.
