A decrease in drivers crossing the Mighty Mac is causing concern for future projects.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority says 325-thousand fewer travelers are crossing the bridge this year compared to last, a decrease of nearly 9-percent.
The authority says there is enough money coming in to keep up with routine maintenance, but say the trend is causing some concern for funding future projects. One project officials are looking at that could be a concern is the bridge deck replacement planned for 2017.
The bridge is maintained through funds collected from tolls.
