Michigan has become the first state to sign a water technologies partnership agreement with Israel.

Governor Jennifer Granholm signed a water technologies partnership agreement Monday during her seven-day trade trip to the Mideast. The joint declaration between Michigan and Israel establishes a working group between the two governments to focus on energy efficiency and technology that will improve water quality and increase water re-use. Governor Granholm is working to extend overseas business relations in the state. Her trip to the Middle East is her seventh overseas trade trip.
