More job cuts hit home to Northern Michigan residents
TRAVERSE CITY -- Germany's Deutsche Post announces it will close all of its DHL Express Service Centers in the U.S., that causes 9,500 people to lose their jobs, some right here in Northern Michigan. According to a company employee about 40 people work for a local DHL delivery branch in Traverse City. 7&4 News was told they have not yet been notified when shipping services will stop. We called DHL's corporate headquarters and they told us they have no information on when the closings will take effect. They told us to expect an update "within a couple of weeks."
