A support program is helping people with diabetes learn more about managing the disease at home.

Spectrum Health in Reed City is offering its Diabetes Self-Management Education Program to anyone living with diabetes or close to someone with the disease. The class has three sessions that include treatment options, nutrition, glucose monitoring, exercise and medications and psychosocial adjustment. The next round of classes with openings begin in December and are free to attend. However, you need to register in advance. To register please call (231) 832-8502 and be sure to call soon because classes are filling up quickly.
