A statue representing former President Gerald Ford's early years is now on display in Grand Rapids.
The life-size bronze statue shows former President Gerald Ford as a 16-year-old Eagle Scout, and has been placed in his Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, where he grew up. The Gerald R. Ford Council of Boy Scouts of America dedicated the statue Tuesday. Nearly 80 donors gave $77,000 through a statue fundraiser. Ford was 14-years-old when he became an Eagle Scout in 1927.
