An unlikely rescue in Australia is being heralded by firefighters as heroic.
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA -- A Jack Russell Terrier named Leo risked life and limb to protect four kittens inside his family's burning home in Melbourne Saturday night. Leo stood by a box containing the litter of kittens until firefighters were able to rescue the animals. The dog was in rough shape when firefighters finally pulled him from the burning house, suffering from smoke inhalation. Leo had an oxygen mask strapped to his face and was given plenty of water and recovered quickly. All four kittens survived the ordeal.
