Officers forced their way inside the home and rescued two people, one in a wheelchair.
A Chippewa County man has been charged setting a home on fire with two people inside this weekend. Crews were called to a fire on the 900 block of Superior in Sault Saint Marie Sunday. When firefighters arrived they found the garage fully engulfed and the home beginning to ignite. Officers forced their way inside the home and rescued two people, one in a wheelchair. Officers arrested Weston Cooper a few hours later. Cooper could spend up to twenty years in prison if found guilty of the charges.
