ISABELLA CO. -- Two people were arrested after a high speed chase in Isabella County ended with the driver crashing into a utility pole.

According to Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski, an deputy saw a black Lincoln passenger car traveling very slowly down Pickard Rd. The car was weaving and changing speeds, Mioduszewski says. The car then came to a complete stop in the middle of the lane.

When the deputy activated the emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped off very quickly. The car did not stop or slow down when going through a stop sign at Winn Rd.

Mioduszewski says the car was traveling erratically and passed several cars in a no passing zone. The driver lost control near Nottawa Rd, spun out, and hit a utility pole and a tree, which resulted in a power outage in the area.

The driver of the vehicle, Reba Janeen Navejar, 28 of Grand Rapids, said she was trying to flee police because she had drugs in the car.

She was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (3rd offense), driving with a suspended license and a parole violation.

Also arrested was Clifton Terron Lee III, 19 of Grand Rapids, who was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (2nd offense).

Both are currently being lodged at the Isabella County Jail.

No one was injured in the chase or subsequent crash. It remains under investigation.
