TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City Commissioners are expected to approve a $40,000 dollar grant from the state at Tuesday night’s meeting, to improve the Boardman River Boat Launch as well as the connected parking lot.

The launch is located along Grandview Parkway in Traverse City, East of Park Street.

The plan is to expand the area as well as add some new parking spots to allow for vehicles with boat trailers. The overall project will cost about $400,000 dollars.

The city will use this latest grant as well as several other grants from the state and a donation from Hagerty Insurance to pay for the upgrades.  Work is expected to start in the spring.
